What effect does assessment have on children?

Jen is concerned about the increasing burden of assessment on children, as her child moves from nursery to primary school.

Dr Tina Isaacs argues that assessment has benefits for children but it is the adults who are more anxious about it.  She talks about assessment in primary schools and also at the secondary stages.  She explains how and when testing matters for children and for teachers and schools.
